Biography:
Dr. Ashley Tiahrt is a Laurel, Nebraska native who attended Laurel-Concord High school and graduated in 2007. She attended Chadron State College and was a member of the Rural Health Opportunities Program. RHOP is a program that recruits high school graduates who are interested in returning to small towns to practice medicine after finishing education. She attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center and recently completed her Family Medicine residency in Sioux City, IA.
She has been moonlighting in Pender since 2017 and has enjoyed getting to know the staff and faculty at the hospital. Her lifelong dream has been to practice full scope medicine in a small town. Her passions include women's healthcare, obstetrical care, and pediatrics.
When asked why Pender over other small communities to practice in, she replied "I actually reached out to them years ago because Pender is known around the northeast Nebraska area to be well advanced in the medical field with nicer facilities than you can even find in larger cities. The staff, physicians, and everyone I meet in the community are so welcoming and friendly and I can't ask for a better place for us to raise a family."
Dr. Tiahrt and her husband, John, have two sons, Jacob and Travis. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, gardening, and running.
