Biography:
Dr. David Hoelting, M.D., is the senior staff doctor at Pender Community Hospital. He and his wife, Shirley, have two adult sons and a daughter. Dr. Hoelting has been practicing family medicine in Pender since 1978, and he is a native of Lawerence, NE.
"I was born and raised in a rural community, and there's no way in heck I would be anywhere else," Dr. Hoelting said.
Dr. Hoelting was recognized by the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians (NAFP) as "Physician of the Year" in 2011 and earned a "Quality of Care" award in 2002. He has served as an NAFP delegate and president and as the NAFP Foundation president.
As of a few years ago he no longer routinely see obsetrics patients, though he still enjoys and practices all aspects of family medicine, including geriatrics. When he's not working, he enjoys hiking, paleontology, cars and dabbling with the latest technology.
Throughout all the years practicing medicine in Pender, he most appreciates the smalltown atmosphere and very high level of professionalism and caring by the staff here.
