Biography:
Angie Wegner, FNP-C, has been a nurse practitioner at the Pender Community Hospital and Pender Medical Clinic since 2017. Prior to that, she had worked as a nurse for 10 years, 9 of those at St. Francis Memorial Hospital of West Point on the medical surgical unit where she cared for inpatients as well as ER and OB care.
As a family nurse practitioner, she is able see patients from newborns to the elderly for any of their healthcare needs. She chose family care because she did not want to limit herself to one age or gender group. She enjoys the variety of patients she gets to see on a daily basis.
Angie and her husband, Matt Wegner, of rural Bancroft, have four children, Braylon, Jaxson, Riley, and Hudson. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exercising, and attending her children's activities.
Originally, from rural West Point, NE, she was raised on a farm near Monterey. Her father farmed until completing nursing school in his 40s. Her mother has also worked in healthcare for the last 32 years. She is a middle child of 5, and out of 5, four of those currently work in the healthcare field.
